Step 5: Now you can reset your password by inserting a new value into user_pass.ย Note that it’s case-sensitive.

I use Filezillaย as an FTP client.

Step 1: Login to Filezilla.

 

Step 2: Now, Go to โ€œ../wp-content/themes/(your currentย active theme)/โ€, download the functions.php file.

Step 3:ย Open functions.php and add the code given below right after the first <?php:

wp_set_password('YourNewPassword',1);

After adding the code replace YourNewPassword with your desired new password. The โ€œ1โ€ in the script is the user ID number in the wp_users table.

Step 4: After setting the new password, uploadย the edited functions.php file to your FTP (Filezilla).

Step 5: Lastly, you should remove the code and upload to your FTP after youโ€™re able to login WordPress.
